Halloween is a BIG deal in our house. My youngest is actually a Halloween baby, so we always have a party planned and decorate the house. I’ve never been a Halloween person, but now we HAVE to pull out all the stops and each year and it always has to be better than the last. This also applies to the boys Halloween costumes, they couldn’t possibly wear the same fancy dress costume twice.
Children’s Halloween fancy dress costumes
We were lucky enough to receive some costumes from the wonderful people at Tickled Pink Fancy Dress so the children could be the best dressed children at the party! If you have a look at their easy to use website, you will see that they have an extensive range of fancy dress costumes for adults and children, for all seasons and themes.
I have always been a little concerned about children’s Halloween costumes. Some of them can be a little inappropriate for young girls or boys (either too scary or too short), so I always scrutinise any costume. My eldest chose a ‘Scream’ / grim reaper costume, which raised a few eyebrows from me! Even though he didn’t know what a grim reaper was and had never seen / heard of the Scream movies, I reluctantly agreed he could have it. My youngest son wanted a ghost costume, which I was really pleased to see was available on the Tickled Pink website. The ghost costume wasn’t a usual ghost sheet, it was a ghoul ghost.
We ordered the costumes and waited eagerly for their arrival. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the costumes on. They can be worn straight from the packaging, so you don’t need to worry about last minute fixing and altering = less work for me!
The Scream / grim reaper costume wasn’t as scary as I originally thought it would be. I thought the mask would be quite grown up and a little intimidating for younger children. The smile on the mask has a slight smile on it, so it makes it a lot softer and not so scary, which was brilliant.
For some reason, my son decided to combine the grim reaper costume with his medieval swords! He was so excited he started mixing it up with all of his outfits! It kind of works though doesn’t it!
The ghost costume was great too. My son is going to be 5 years old and this
costume fits 5/6 year olds. Although it drags on the ground, it wasn’t too bad, but you have to remember that their arms and legs aren’t supposed to be on show, otherwise it may give the game away!
All the children’s costumes are very reasonable priced and are good quality. They range from £7.99 to £29.99 for their deluxe range.
The ghost ghoul costume was £11.99 and the child reaper costume was £10.99. Which is very reasonable, as the quality is good and the fit would easily fit my boys for a couple more years.
